My ancestors came from Germany, France, Ireland, and parts still TBD. Many were Catholic and came here at a time when Americans in power despised Catholics. My ancestors likely were called heretics, idolaters, and worse. Laws were passed to keep them out and limit their rights.
Today, I stand against POTUS’s asinine ban against Muslim refugees. Most of them faced far stricter tests than my ancestors–or his–did when they came to these shores. Security experts–who know of what they speak–tell us that this ban will do NOTHING to protect our country from terrorists. Instead, it likely gives them additional recruiting material.
This bullshit is NOT what my America stands for. And I will not be silent.
